She talked about one little boy whose mother is disabled and father lost his job and now Daddy drinking and the boy scared."Senator Herron said the psychologist also told him about a girl whose parents lost their jobs and can afford to buy her glasses."Here she is, she failed three vision tests, can see the blackboard and she struggling to try to get through school," he told News 2. "That school psychologist said the teachers took up a collection, out of their own pockets, so that girl can have glasses."Herron added that the psychologist said every teacher in Perry County has been helping buy kids shoes, winter coats and school supplies.News 2 also talked to the mayor of Linden, Jim Azbill.He said previous county leaders should have attracted other industries besides auto suppliers to prevent unemployment problems."I don think anyone fault," said Azbill. "We had good jobs, everybody was working [and] everything was good. [We] should have been trying to diversify."
