"It was kind of cool to have all of those players looking on," Angelle said. "There were about 30 or so watching me warm up in the bullpen before the game, and it nice to go out there after that and represent Lamar University well."
"Chase was fantastic, and today is just wonderful," head coach Jim Gilligan added. "We picked up a win in the afternoon, and I think the kids looked inspired after the introductions to some of the former players before the game. It really great to have that win going into the banquet tonight."
"I was a little uncomfortable in the first inning, but I settled in right after that," Angelle said. "I had all my pitches working all day. I hit my locations, and my defense was great behind me. When I got to through sixth inning, I was determined to make it through the whole game."
From there, the game would turn into a pitcher duel as UNO Nick Halliday held the Cards scoreless over the ensuing five frames before another Middleton two out two run double gave LU some breathing room.
